Bayfront Youth & Family Services´ Wraparound program offers 24 hour support to families. Through a strength-based, team driven process, families have an opportunity to identify their needs and build on their unique, individualized values to gain safety, stability, and permanency in their communities. Emphasizing the family´s "voice" as a source for growth and balance, Wraparound has proven to be an effective approach that continues to gain recognition as a quality support program.
Our Wraparound staff is made up of Parent Partners, Child and Family Specialists, and Facilitators, all of which are available to advocate for each family member, provide unconditional support, and help do "whatever it takes" to address their needs and achieve their goals. The program is designed to provide linkages to other programs that may be needed along with crisis intervention and management. Safety is a priority and child and family team meetings are held as often as needed to ensure that the youth and their family are the driving force behind the decision-making process.
The Bayfront Youth & Family Services´ Wraparound program has been operating since 2006 and is proud of the ongoing commitment of the youth and their families. Contracted with Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Bayfront Youth & Family Services´ Wraparound receives referrals from the Los Angeles County DCFS, L.A. County Department of Mental Health (DMH), and L.A. County Department of Probation. Each year our Wraparound Program must undergo an annual review conducted by DCFS to ensure fidelity to the Wraparound process and be awarded contract renewal.
In 2012 our Wraparound Program expanded by contracting with L.A. County DMH to provide Wraparound youth and families with Mental Health Services including Individual and Family Therapy, Crisis and Case Management, Psychiatric Services, Medication Management, and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS). With the continued efforts of the families, staff, community partners, and county affiliates, Bayfront Youth & Family Services´ Wraparound program has continued to grow and firmly establish itself as a successful outpatient program.

1. How do I get my family into Wraparound?
Answer: All Wraparound referrals are generated by the County Social Worker, Probation Officer, or even a Primary Therapist. All families connected with the Wrap program are either on formal 602 Probation, OR have a case with Los Angeles County Department of Children & Family Services.
2. How long does my family remain in the Wraparound program?
Answer: Length of stay in the program varies case by case. Depending on the goals set by the family and the team and the time it takes to achieve the goals, the duration is flexible and can be anywhere from a few months to several years.
3. Who is on the Wrap team?
Answer: Members of the team can include a Parent Partner to work side by side to support the parent/caregiver, a Child & Family Specialist who is there to advocate for the youth, a Facilitator who works to coordinate meetings and oversee a team-driven process, along with the family and any informal supports that they have identified to be a part of their team. Informal support participants are strongly encouraged and the goal is to achieve a total informal support network once termination from the program is reached.
